The five tracks on this EP take their inspiration from the mood and feel of 1980′s Cyberpunk novels such as Neuromancer by William Gibson. I attempted to make my voice sound like a Vocaloid / Idoru and to make my guitar sound like a basic synth.
The sound sources on the tracks are guitar, vocals and drum samples only. A single guitar and voice sample was captured for each track by a self-made VST (made in Synthedit). The melody and chords were then 'applied' to this sample with a VST midi step sequencer.
The synth-like sounds come from running some of the guitar parts through gvst GsinthG. Other key effects include magnus.smartelectronix.com Ambience, an amazing reverb VST and Subliminal Stepchild midi step sequencer.
